mobile motorbike tyres serice west midlands
« on: April 12, 2011, 08:46:59 AM »

Can anybody recommend any. My local shop quoted me almost 300 for changing tyres on my zx10r 56, including set of pirelli angel. I recon its quite steep.
Cheers

Thought about setting yourself up to do em yourself m8?
I took the plunge last year and havent looked back.
I save about 80 quid on every set of tyres I order online and then another 30 quid on fitting.
110 quid every time!!! Not a bad saving eh?
Ive now changed about 7 tyres (fronts and rear) including balancing and although im far from proficient I know they're 100% when Im finished.
You'de need...
Compressor
2x Tyre levers
Valve puller (dead cheap)
Valves
Weights
I built myself a bead breaker and the balancing equipment (using inline skate bearings, funnily enuff about the best bearing you can buy!)
All the info and "How To's" I got of the net.
If your interested and need some more info give me a shout.

I seriously have no time for that, neither skills. I would probably hurt myself. Are u local? Maybe u could help me with that one Saturday afternoon? I would of course pay u. The biggest problem I have with it is to take and put back the rear wheel on my zx10r. Regards Arek

Where's Stealth???

I used to frequent Symtek, when there were in Redditch but the vanished off the face of the earth about 18 months ago? they had some nice kit, bikes etc...

Arek, I take it you don't want to take your wheels out yourself and drop them into a local tyre sales place?

I have used the place in Coleshill before now,

Also Motorway tyres in Halesowen do good deals, the bloke who runs the place is a biker and a Kawasaki man  :headbang:

There's also a tyre place on the Queslett Road, Great Bar, which a lot of bikers use, just off the junction from the Birmingham Road, have been there for a while myself as I use friends at a dealers, due to trye pressure sensors on the rims (anyone who doesn't know they are there will break them!)
