We had a bike stolen from outside our shop today, one of our second hand bikes, out of the line up, basically just wheeled it away and into a van. I was releasing a bike to a customer and one of the service express guys came running into the shop and asked had I sold it? No I replied, and he told me he saw a guy wheeling it down the road. I ran out and down the main road to give chase but they were gone, strange enough one of the customers was a copper and he jumped on his own bike to find them, and fair play caught up with the van but lost them down a single lane track, although got the reg number and let his colleagues know, who, found the van and the two blokes but not the bike.
Prior to this MCN called me and wanted to do a piece on the bike so I said I'd call them back and email some pics, I called them back alright, to tell them that it had been stolen, so they said they'd put about the theft on the web...
Anyway, more importantly details of the bike are....
It's a one-off GSX-R1000 K7 that was painted by suzuki in 'lucky strike' colours and was ridden by Kevin Schwantz at the Isle of Man, and the tank and panels are all signed by Kevin too. The bike has only 110 miles on it and had Tri-oval Yoshi exhausts.
Full details of the bike are here including the reg number.....
