its not something that I have seen discussed on the forum often, i am aware though that there are companies that offer this  e.g.

http://www.trackdays.co.uk/insurance/  although they seem to have withdrawn it currently  [whistle]

how could you possibly do it? if u actually managed to insure your bike what what you do if hit by another rider.... because im sure they wouldnt be insured!
everyone knows the risks that trackdays bring with them thats why we do em, get a track foucused bike and enjoy the ride......................... or take ur new shiny zx10 which is probably on strap like most of us and trow it down the road? as i said the risks are there    ;-)

The same way I did in the car your vehicle is insured only, if someone rams into you the insurance payout for damage to your vehicle only and the same if you ram into someone else they fix your bike only, the other party cant claim off your insurance think of it as fully comp without the 3rd party liability bit.

Perhaps more important is your personal accident insurance. Over here we need pay an extra premium because track days are compared to dangerous sports.

I bet it's silly money with loads of catch's.  Dosent make sense if say u pay 100 pound then do 1000 pound damage how are they making money on a minority sport ?

I've heard first hand from someone that had tday insurance and claimed that his premiums were loaded to a silly amount and it also can affect your road insurance policy

If you are using a decent road bike for a trackday, then you obviously have insurance, and if its fully comp, then there is an obvious solution if you bin it on a track day.....I would without hesitation.

If you are running a track bike, with race fairings and stuff, chances are it was once an insurance write-off which is almost worthless in insurance terms now, so you just need to accept that and repair it as you go on a budget...............Personally I think self preservation is the best mentality for trackdays........but that don't mean shit if someone wipes you out.

That company just used to cover you if you had an off and ended up injured.  Thye wouldn't cover the bike.  I asked a little while ago about it.
