Hyosung GTR 125
« on: May 17, 2011, 09:57:43 AM »

Has anyone had any expeience with a Hyosung GTR 125?.....don't worry I'm not changing my 10 for one! But a young lad I know wants one. You may say stay away and go for the mainstream Japanese learner 125's but he's only 17 and at over 6 foot 3 does'nt fit anything else. He's done his research and has set his heart on it.
Any feedback would be appreciated  :icon_thumright:

Exact copy of the Honda CG125 - slightly lower overall QC but thats about it.
Its been made in china for years now anyway so sooner or later it was going to get copied.
They copy the SV650 too and it got very good reviews by the bikes mags.

Yea they're not too bad these days. My mate had a hyosung 125 a few years back and it was pretty solid.

Colleague of mine used to commute on one, sooooooooo cheap to do so.

For a beginner it's probably ideal and cost effective.  :headbang:

Thanks for the feedback, went with the lad to check it out and it looks sound, took it for a test ride and all seemed well. So he put his money down and bought it. Not being a brand of bike I know much about, reliability, spares, etc I hope he's done the right thing, in a strange kind of way I feel a bit responsible if it all goes a bit pear shaped.  :emb: But here's hoping it sets a young lad off into the joys of biking  :icon_thumright: Hyosung today ZX10 tomorrow  :headbang:
