I wouldn't drain it, I would fiull with anti  freeze and forget about it. Mine lives inthe shed, no heating with normal coolant in it

Make sure once you've put your anti-freeze in that you run the bike up to temperature, and make sure ALL the water is replaced with coolant/anti-freeze. If not, then it's one of the best ways to fuck an engine when it does freeze in possible cold months that we may have.
Best bet is to pop along to your local dealer and pick up some coolant in a 5 ltr bottle and do it properly, will be cheaper than than replacing your mill.

Drain all the water out, refill/flush out system with runo-th'-mill m/c coolant (5 ltrs approx).
Many a folk have left water in over winter and found out what happens come spring  :crybaby2: [naughty]
I'd keep the coolant in for summer use, you only need water for racing regulations.

You'll be safe with any Putoline/Silkoline/Fuchs/Yamaha..etc...etc  pre-mixed coolant, I said 5 ltrs as thats the biggest it's sold off the self in, but always check your handbook to see what capacity it should hold including the header tank.

i had the rad cap off and header cap of then , put about half a ltr in then started the engine , then filled it up till it was full in top of rad then toped up the header between the low and high marks let it run till fan came on then cut the fuel and let it run till engine died. think it took 2,1/2 ltrs.

If its a track bike why run just water anyway? Keep proper coolant in it , its much better for cooling and the bike. Obviously i realize race bikes have to run just water but even so i keep coolant in my bikes when im not racing.
