Bitubo Help
« on: February 21, 2011, 05:01:58 PM »

Could anyone help me please.. The bike I'm building is nearly ready to race but ive just noticed it's blown a fork seal sitting in the garage...it wouldnt be an issue but it has Bitubo ECH29 cartridges installed and Im not sure how to undo the top caps. Preload adjusters are painful to turn too - should these have a tool?

Is there a special tool that the previous owner should have given me?

Does anyone know how I can get an owners manual?

There's nothoing on their website, google searches dont help and I cant get in touch with the importer.  :dontknow: Racing in 2 weeks

Thanks

Awesome! I emailed bitubo last night and at 8am today the whole full colour service manual and parts list was in my inbox. They apologised for the trouble I was having getting help and said I was welcome to contact them directlty at any time! The top cap needs special tool number 00398 (shown in the 1st pic) there is also a tool for the preload adjusters if needed. Thanks you guys for your help. Bez: yeah its zion moto ive been trying but i still need to get in touch to get the tool.

Update:   :headbang: after the manuals turned up I received an email straight away from Steve at Zion Moto (hawk/buildbase racing partners and bitubo importers), who offered to send the tools free of charge and they turned up the very next day, together with a spring removal spanner and some advice on oil weight and air gap! This is top stuff and I'm really grateful to him. Although hard to pin down, he's a super guy. Well done :icon_thumright:

I took my Ohlins rear shock there to be stripped serviced and setup and was wanting to have talks about doing the front forks.

They had the rear shock for almost 3 weeks and hadn't done a single thing to it, they never returned my calls and just generally let me down.

I picked the shock up from them (they seemed surprised i wasnt happy) took the shock and the bike to KAIS and within 9 days they had fully serviced and set the rear shock and fitted the ohlins 20mm kit to the front and set them up too. Top work and kept me informed of any hold ups that they had had along the way, oh and had thrown in a missing preload adjuster for the rear shock FOC

Maxton are a small company trying to go big and there customer service is crap IMO

Wow that's very surprising! I've never had them treat me like that at all, they've always bent over backwards to help me out.

As for a small company going big - bit wrong there mate, you need to check the IOM stats  ;-)

no need to check, i know alot of bikes are using them now

but the fact that I and 3 other lads from my place now go to KAIS after being treated badly by maxton is enough for me.
