My mate keeps getting done, he has a one line plate on his R1, you'd think he'd get the hint really. The latest on slaught on him was static camera van, didn't get him for speeding but they have sent him a Sec 172 notice to declare who was riding (defaults back to the registered keeper if you fail to declare) so no doubt he will get a summons. I understand that repeat offenders will have their plates withdrawn so they have to re register. This ANPR lark will only recognise legal digits which is why the fuzz get upset with slanting/small/disfigured or altered digits, that is what they are justifying the fine is for. Like many on here say, a 7x5 does not draw adverse attention and looks in keeping with the bike. Isn't it strange in this crap EU state we live in that we keep coming off worse. Every other country has much smaller plates than us and can lawfully ride/drive and in complete anonimity around the UK as the ANPR system cannot read their plates let alone check insurance/tax (they often aren't paying any!). That said its like the tinted visor/race can debate, if you don't want to take the chance don't do it, we all know the rules....
