« on: January 25, 2011, 09:33:00 AM »

Hi guys just a quick one if you have Gilles Chain Adjusters.
I hope everyone should no but just incase you dont when fitting them MAKE SURE you keep the OEM adjuster bolt in to surport the block once adjusted on the gilles adjuster.
Here is a pic of mine oooooops i forgot the OEM bolt was very close on going very very wrong at 100mph ?

Rich - 2 things wrong there.
1st talk to Gilles as there is obviously an issue causing that to come loose.
2nd your spindle is in the wrong way round - nut needs to be on the left as it affects the chain tension when being torqued upand may be to blame here too.
My guess is there was not the right torque setting on the axle and/or the split spin missing for that to be in that state.
3yrs and 2 different swingarms and mine has never moved unless its being intentionally adjusted.

It's sorted mate I sell these chain adjusters everyday and the only prob was the oem adjustment bolt it states in the instructions to leave in but I didn't ?

In the instructions?
Funny -as in mine it clearly shows to use the cap headbolt supplied to hold the adjuster in place. If you do that there is no way of leaving the oe bolt in place.
