Hi there as said in previous post catching Ferry to Santander then riding through Spain and France.

Trying to get everything sorted i have sorted breakdown cover and insurance. Anyone who has done this before did you take any security chain and lock disc lock alarm etc ?

I know if they want it they will get it . was thinking of taking a oxford chain and lock like the hd 2.0 meter lock a couple of bikes together but its 4.6 kgs  http://www.saundersonsecurity.co.uk/acatalog/Oxford_HD_Chain_and_Lock.html#aOF160

Hi, last year I got a ferry to Le Harve and headed through France to Biarritz then rode the Pyrenees from west to east before heading down to Barcelona. We took a minimal amount of gear so we could still throw the bikes around on the twisties, that meant taking no locks or chains. We did however chose our accommodation each night based on whether they had secure parking or not and every night we found a place that did. Some of them charged an extra 6 to 10 euros for this but for us it was the right decision.

I am incredibly paranoid about security so whenever we stopped for food we always made sure the bikes were close by where we could keep an eye on them.

If you are planning on leaving your bike unattended for long periods in a city then I would take a chain and lock it to something solid.

No cities, so thats helped out loads thanks ill get me self a disc lock and do the same find accomdation thats secure thanks alot have a bhp

hi mate spare keys for bike and locks just in case me and jolz go to the ring alot and we just take a chain and two disc locks jolz bikes alarmed aswell so chain them together and disc lock on each never had any probs safe journey have agood trip we are off on the 29th of july to the ring again for a long weekend cant wait anyone want to tag along give us a shout cheers

Its call a "European Health Insurance Card" or "EHIC".

Scan your passport and insurance documents and send em to your Yahoo or Hotmail account. If you lose all your stuff you can print them off again at any internet caff

   I have got a pair of new bridgestone bt 020 that come on a bike would these be ok for the trip ? dont really dabble in road tyres any thoughts cheers

Oh wicked thanks buddy my local tyre shop told me to put bt015's which the blade come with but i thought with the mileage i might aswell go with these and its not a racetrack . Thanks everyone i do really appreciate it

Im sure I read a thread on here a while back about someone reckoning 10mins on a ZX10 was quick! Puts that into perspective a bit!
