ZX10r vibes?
« on: January 17, 2011, 02:08:39 PM »

Hello everyone. I'm new so hello

I have just purchased a 05 zx10r. Love it too bits(apart from the brakes.. jesus)
Although, I'm quite concerned about how many vibes I can feel through the tank at tick over. It seems to be quite a harsh raspy engine, and not the silky smooth 4 that I was expecting. When I increase the revs it goes. Is this normal?
The bike has done 5K, starts on the button and doesnt burn oil.
Apart from that, I've got an rsv mille as well, and live in hampshire.

Hi Bud.
First point - Yep, gen1 brakes are shite. If you dont want to fork out a fortune try braided lines and SBS HS rated pads (biiig difference). Oh, and deglaze your discs too.
(speak to 24-7racebikebits on here. its where i got mine from)
Point 2 - Sounds like your plugs are fecked. Another common reoccurring fault. Go fo some nice Ti tipped ones. Seems to solve the issue.
Hope this helps.

Cheers guys for the input, and the warm welcome.
I'll get some pics up eventually, but I'm no genius with PC's so it will be a while.
