Airport delays
« on: December 21, 2010, 07:55:21 AM »

So... I'm sitting here at Birmingham airport, waiting for any information about my flight. It's been already delayed an hour, next info should be in about 45 mins. I fly a fair bit so im not really bothered. Missed my connecting flight to Poland but its still few days till xmass. I'm bored and was just curious if u had any experience like that and does it really grind your gear or ur like me just accepting the fact?

And I really like my Barclays bank account with access to lounges included in lol

I've been flying fairly frequently these last few years...and aye, an hours delay is fairly standard with certain, cheaper airlines, & information is often thin on the ground. Sometimes you got take a seat, order a cold beer, and wait it out.  :occasion14:

when you can't influence the outcome you have two choices ;

1. Relax and watch others stressing, which isn't good for them
2. Stress on something that you can't influence / change

Runways are usually surrounded by grassland, is there any reason why they couldn't install a "Grand Designs" type heat-exchange system, by burying pipes under the grass and using it to warm either the runway or standing areas?  If there was no snow it could warm the buildings and keep the heating bill down.  Or is that too simple?

And I'm here again, at the airport. Everything looked very promising. Checked website, All fights went some with small delays. Last flight to Munich was delayed 7 mins. Not too bad because I have 55 mins between flights In munich. then checking in ... no queues - all good. Got to the waiting lounge and.... MY FOOOKING FLIGHT IS ALREADY DELAYED FOR 30 MINUTES!!! I simply can't believe it. My daughter will be gutted if I dont get there for xmas. So will I. It must be bad luck.  :cry:
