Hi Mate

feel sorry for you

As the others have mentioned do the above.    CCTV is the best evidence but if you have been to work during the time of the offence or can prove you were somewere else at the time of the offence you should be ok.  Hind sight is a bloody wonderfull thing but I hope ypou get it sorted..

Cheers hyabusa47

i no this isn't much help now but please in the future people write a recipt out consisting of reg number, chassis number, make of bike, date, there name and address, time of when it left your garage and how much they paid for it and then get the buggers to sign it. at least you have some proof that way if the law come to you.

sorry to here of your troubles matey, i always do what i said above, you get some strange looks from the buyers sometimes but they will just have to DEAL WITH IT!  :icon_thumright:

If you get the new owner to fill in the new owner section of the V5, and send it to the DVLA, ( i always add the time to the date, although that's not a requirement ), and send it off to the DVLA and not give the log book to the new owner, then you have fulfilled all your legal obligations, and covered your back.

If the new owner has given a false address, then he will not get a new log book Lol.  If he has given a false name, not your problem.

As added protection, keep a copy of the V5, with new owner details,  before you send it off to the DVLA.. Job Done.

Any updates on this one Martek ???

I had the same problem with my YPVS.
You will have to pay the fine like i did when the guy did not tax the bike, Out the blue i got a bill.

THERE IS ONLY ONE THING YOU CAN DO.
Write a letter to DVLA and tell them the bike has been scrapped. and for them to call in the log book.

Why not S.O.R.N the bike so it will get stopped by the POLICE??    And they will surely impound the bike  !!  The new owner will have to prove he owns it , to get it back BUT it would still be in your name !!    So might even get a letter to say asking when you want to collect it !!   :downtown:

they don't section 165 vehicles for that, only no insurance or driving licence and i doubt you'd be able to sorn something that was taxed anyway.
