I just wondered what paddock stands folk here favour. I've had a few. Started years ago with a micron stand when I had a KR1S and an RGV but it became a bit of a problem when I moved onto 400's and 600's, it didnt have a good design for leverage so I bought a Oxford stand. That was a mistake, its crap. It bolts together and has too much flex in it. I worried it would flex enough for the swinging arm to twist in the frame and have a topple, particularly when changing wheels in a hurry at track days. I bought a harris rear stand at the NEC show this year, looks to have the leverage and feels strong as f**k.
Undoubtable the best thing I have bought on this front though is an Abba stand. You'd struggle to kick the bike over when its on, very very stable but I can't use it with tyre warmers because one wheel is always onthe ground. I had a look around the Abba stand at the NEC on Monday. They have really thought about their products. They have made a lever type jack to slip underhte pipes to lift he front end up to work on but I have an enclosed belly pan on the track bike so still an issue for me but for a road bike it would be brilliant. They have also made sonme really tidy wheel balancers and a clever rear wheel jack/trolley for easy rear wheel insertion, really good products. And no I don't have shares just well worth a look.
What paddock stands do you guys favour?
