I have to agree with G.....
I bought the 10R because it looks so damned nice, it's a classic already
I also bought it becasue I knew that I would never need all the power available on any of the 1000 bikes anyhow so choice really came down to how the bike looked and affected the nice feelings in my brain.
The thing with the Kawasaki is that on the 04/05 the way the power is delivered does feel quite vicious and is almost addictive and again as G says the suspension/tyres have to be set to match alse you get all wobbly, well it can weave a bit. However, with a bit of setup or a sterring damper everything is sorted for a few quid.
I never even took a test ride, I never do, I just buy what I like, my riding isn't so brilliant that I would notice much difference, same with cars I just buy what I like, bollocks to everyone else it's my choice afterall. However, I do take time for research to ensure that other peoples opinions and experiences are accounted for just like you're doing here
Finally, I have no regrets on buying the 10R none whatsoever
