Hmm, simple thread getting out of hand me thinks.
I'll tell ya a little story that started all this off.....
I do motorcycle sports rider training as part of my living.
To keep tabs on my
victim student sometimes I have to wind on a bit when we become slightly split up by road circumstances.
Anyhoo, coming out of a town I opened up a bit ( about 20yds before the national speed limit sign).
Van parked facing away from me,
red flash,
camera in the back.
Hey presto, mug shot from the front of my nice black visor.
Great.
Two plodds in the front of said van (German cops are called Bulls btw, not that makes any difference) taking the number plates of any biker who activates the cam.
3 weeks later I receive my "digital portrait" and the fine in the post.
Now, it was only a 15 euro fine but feckin annoying none the less. This was most certainly not a case of setting up a camera for road safety.
If it was the cam would have been set up to catch people speeding
into the town not going out.
I know all the static sites on the routes I use for the tours (theres only 2) so its this kind of sneaky, backhanded, unnecessary temporary money spinning bllx that I'd like to avoid.
The lads who have been on my tours will know that I
always slow right down in towns and villages.
Always.
So to say im pissed off at being done coming out of town would be an understatement.
In case you cant understand German, I was done for 56kph in a 50 limit
Thats 34mph in a 30 folks. Hardly hard core stuff
Now Im all for road safety but
FFS!. It makes sense to protect yourselves from thieves dunnit?
