I'm amazed when I hear some people say they dont need to wear earplugs. Even the quietest rated helmets allow something between 85 to 90db at road legal speeds, this kind of noise level causes permanent and irreversable damage to your hearing. But because its a gradual change you wont notice until its too late.

I use custom fitted plugs from Ultimate Ear myself, but sometimes use foam earplugs and have found MaxLite plugs (yellow ones) the best of that type.

As has been said though, anything is better than nothing. :icon_thumright:

There's another company in Cradley Heath who do the same, called;
Guymark U K Ltd.
St Lukes House
Upper High Street
Cradley Heath

here's the link.

http://www.guymark.com/default.aspx

I used them for personal ear protection which were paid for and supplied by my previous employer  :headbang:

The DIY plugs that I mentioned from
http://www.diyearplugsonline.com/index.html
seem to do exactly the same job (aside from some v expensive plugs that have filters) and for the price they look very hard to beat.
At 15 quid they're starting to look like a bargain.

I'm going to contact them to see if they'de be up for a group buy discount.
If they're game I'll start a poll to see whos interested.

Yep, they are quite pricey, got mine several years ago thro' my IAM group so got a discount.  You can wear them all day and have a "normal" conversation whilst wearing them  :icon_thumright:

i like the cheap yellow ones as you can just throw them away after use and they cost bugger all and are comfy too , no worries about losing expensive ones  :icon_thumright:
