Alreet Cockers!
« on: April 19, 2007, 09:42:46 AM »

Hi All

I'm new to the site. Just thought I'd say hello. I own an '04 zx10r in black that I'm currently putting back togther after, through neglect and bad treatment, the chain snapped and took out the seat unit and some engine parts.

I do as many track days as I can afford (which is about 6 a year) and trailer the bike down to the south of France each year to ride the Route Napoleon, an awesome road that runs from Cannes to Grenoble.

I'll have a look around the site, but wouldn't mind getting involved in any ride outs in the North West - I live near Manchester.

Cheers

Russo

Alright Russo, welcome to the site :icon_thumleft:

The chain snapping sounds nasty, how did that happen, too tight or just not looked after?

Cheers Jon

It had been sat in the garage without any attention, but I had to use the bike because the car broke down. Just jumped on and rode it without thinking about it really and it snapped on the slip road to the motorway.

Well you live and learn - I'll only do it once!

Its smashed an oil pressure release valve off the side of the engine and gushed oil all over the back of the bike so I was fairly lucky to keep it up.

Can't wait to get it sorted.

Have ordered some Ceradure ceramic coated sprockets - you heard anything about them? They looked good in the magazine!

Been thinking about which tyres next as well. Been running Pilot Powers and don't know whether to get the new 2CT's or go for the Pilot Power Race?

Russo, Ive not heard anything about those sprockets apart from what ive seen in the mags but ask in the technical section to see if anyone else has. As for tyres then there are a couple of good posts in the Gallery about the new Avon's, check those out. :icon_thumright:
