I wouldn't buy either of 'em new. They are both old bikes now really.

Let someone else take the initial depreciation hit and buy a low mileage used one

Or if you do have to go new, get a proper bike like a RSV4 or S1000RR  .....

I took an 09zx10 out for the half hour test ride 45 mins later i came back i then got streight on an 09 blade and brought that back after 15 mins very competent bike and prolly as quick as the 10r but it just didnt have that spark its just too boring for a superbike imo

I would say either s1000r or wait and see what the 2011 zx will be like or im sure i seen a pre reg 2010 zx in the show room today for 8650 with an akropovic pipe and 0% finance will double check 2morrow

I get to try quite a few new models and recently had a new blade for a day, and enjoyed riding it, but .... when i jump back on my 10r , nothing else gives me the same buzz. Lots of good bikes out there, but overall,  Jap bikes seem to have the edge in my opinion. Yet to try the BMW 1000 rr

As others have said though, its down to personal preference , what your looking for from a bike,  and money.

I would test ride all the bikes and then see which one you like not what other people say or what bike mags say but charlie has a good point and get a secondhand one

I would go for a 10R.

I have recently bought a new R1 and have made a massive error to the point where i don't want to go out on it. It has got to go. i have found a green 10 wikth an akro and not a bad trade in price. Or unless anyone fancies an R1 at a reasonable price, with akkys.
