Sorry but i can't see where the frame is split ? or what's wrong with selling the frame.

how can you not see the split in the frame in the second picture next to the kawasaki plaque?

its a pic on ebay, not very big and i know from my own experience that pics can be deceiving. I can't clearly see a split on my pc ! and if the guy was asked if its a split, and says it isn't , then I would make my own mind up if to bid or not. If I won it, and it was split, then I would not buy it, or get a refund via paypal which only takes a few days and then i would definitely say the guy was more than a dipshit.

it will be interesting to see what feedback he gets IF he sells it, i'm sure it would not be good if it is split.

What I can't see is why some folk think this bloke is doing something wrong, aside of maybe the description. ??

By the way I have an 05 zx10r frame and log book and also a brand spanking new frame and log book for a 2009 zx6r, might have some dust and the odd splash of mud on it though, if anyone's interested. Please don't call me a dipshit or accuse me of trying to make money off ANOTHER crook though, just because I'm selling them. !

if you click on the enlarge picture it shows the crack very clearly, the bent piece of metal and dark edges is clear to see

if you still can't see it then think you might need a better graphics card  

if you have items to sell tho buddy please use the correct section

what confuses me is why someone would pay the new RRP for a damaged frame  unless it was to create a bike from parts.The price is clearly for the registration document and not the frame. Surely this common amongst theives to buy a frame at an inflated price to then clone a stolen bike 

If i needed to replace mine to rebuild it i would buy a new one for the same money

as i said, i cant see a crack  i the pic, and pics can be deceptive. The guy has been asked if its a crack and he said it isn't. Tell ya wot, i don't need a better graphics card or glasses, i already have them, but i will ask the guy to send me a better pic, close up of that area. Not that I'm i the least bit bothered either way.  What does piss me off more than the split, crack or just bad pic, is folks who call people dishonest because of what they are selling. That's just not right. however you want to twist it about.

I haven't added the frames to the for sale section, because I'm not trying to sell them here, after all, i might be accused of being dishonest !

forgetting the calling the seller names and being dishonest bit ...  i viewed this topic as suggesting that folk that sell second parts such as a a frame, should not be allowed to do so because it encourages crime. Where do stop, does not the same allpy to wheels or anything else. If Insurance company's can't get back some there costs by selling on damaged bikes to salvage buyers, then premiums will go up. The price the insurance company gets is reflected in what the bike will break to, money wise. If we are stopped selling frames, then we pay less, insurance company gets less, premiums go up.

I'm also sure that Insurance company's will have given this lots of consideration, after all, if the salvage they sold, was ultimately costing them because that salvage was encouraging more crime, then they would not sell them in the first place and just get them crushed.

Right - It is simple.
The frame is clearly split. There is only ONE reason for the sale and that is for the logbook. Period. Someone somewhere crossed a palm with silver to stop that being a cat A or B.
They should be banned from being sold, the only thing happening is that those numbers will be on another bike.
Faulksie - seriously have a proper look.
Breaking a bike is not a crime and if you need a frame for yours legit then a grand gets you one with your numbers transferred.
DVLA will be giving any idiot buying that a proctological examination at vic time.

as i said I'll wait and see what the pic the guy sends shows, before making judgement as i think the Ebay pic, posted here could be deceiving. I like to give peeps the benefit of doubt and not guilty until proved otherwise., as i would hope they would me.  It would amaze me if the guy stated it wasn't split, and then it was proved it was., but hey ho, takes all sorts. As for the price being one that will attract ringers, well lets see if it does, I have a feeling it wont sell, maybe the guy who's selling it just doesn't know what they can be bought for new. or second-hand for that matter.

We are all entitled to our opinions on this, i don't think i need a new graphics card   I doubt his picture, at the moment, and doubt his intentions are to attract ringers, just because he is selling the frame on ebay.  Benefit of doubt ! I've had my house raided because of someone's comments / opinions before, which were then proved wrong.  I'd like to be 100% sure before I was responsible for someone's front door being bashed in and their girlfriend being dragged out of bed starker's by the feds, though comments i had made.  Their sorry afterwards didn't put that  right for me or my girlfriend,  and the dick that caused it all, got away scot free !. That's crap justice, and that's where I'm coming from with this.

I have also asked to see pictures from the seller, I asked the seller "do you have any pictures of the crack in picture 2 on ebay of the frame for sale"

now if you are selling something you know if its cracked or not, so if i asked that question and you know its only a dent then you'd expect to have a reply of "its not a crack is only a dent"

the reply i got was one of "Hi chris, cant keep up with all the interest.. too many emails to respond to.. i listed a few too many items! will get them to u asap. thanks"

Hammy never agrees with me, but i agree with him on this. A lot of this is down to the insurance not following the rules of salvage to the letter. Cat A and B should have the head stock cut off, photographic proof sent back to the insurance, yet Cat B with complete numbers are regularity sold as track bikes..  But this one is deffo aimed at being a ringer.

this topic was not only discussing  one ebay seller, but the whole practice of selling frames and it was stated that it shouldn't be allowed. I posted the argument of why it should be allowed and giving examples from my own experience's  based on my involvement with the recovery and disposal of damaged and stolen bikes., scenes of crime officers, insurance companies, i deal with,  so i do know quite a lot about it. I also posted examples of experiences.  I don't need to justify anything about me, to anyone, and certainly am not on a soap box, my replies and explanations took more than one line to say, I'm disappointed you viewed my post that way.

I've also kept my options open as regards the pic,  until i see another pic for the reasons i stated. I won't need to swallow either way, only maybe invest in a new graphics card.  If it shows the frames to be clearly split, then it does, and the blokes a dick that's selling it, but maybe not a villain or trying to sell to villains.

i also didn't agree that the price alone that was set on the auction was an indication that he was attracting ringers, they can buy a frame for a much lower price, just like anyone else. I doubt this frame will sell anyway.

It's  not about who's right or wrong here on the forum, or is it   because as far as I'm concerned its not, but i don't agree with comments accusing peeps of things that are not proven. I thought innocent until proven guilty applied in this country ?
