whats the difference to a winter tyre isn't grip all about heating the tyre up  :dontknow:

Just a guess (no expert you see)

but I would assume a winter based tire/tyre would have a different tread pattern to shift more water so that more rubber makes contact with the road surface and giving a larger dryer contact area.


I'm sure an expert will be along shortly though.
