hi mark

don't know if you know or anyone can shed some light on this ?

04/05..06/07 both use tokico calipers that use four pads.  and people change them for nissin unites that also use four pads ? so whats the difference ?

i know they changed them for 08/09 and they now use two pads.  and the cbr1000rr use two pads in there mono-blocks .

so whats better ...two ..or four ?

and the brake questions : whats the best to fit keeps coming up with a lot of new owners. so it would be good to have just one place for brakes ? saves a lot of people asking :dontknow:  and others telling them time and time again to use the serch .

True...could be a good idea to have a single thread in the Tech forum dedicated to mods, and what's what.

As for 2 v's 4 pads...I guess you have more surface area contact on the 2 pads. But sure someone else can give better explanation & reasons.

Its to doo with the relationship of the M/C bore size and the caliper bore size in relation to the surface area of the pistons and pad contact area.
Its a ridiculously long equation to do - but there was a very good article in FB about it last year.
