help wated bike died on motorway

was on my way to work this morning on the a2 rain hammering down road was flooded every were,then i get to bexleyheath turn off and the bike cut out no power so had to get it over to the hard shoulder.

so i push the bike a hotel car park to have a look,when i turn the bike on the fuel pump does not kick in but i dont get no fi light,so is it that water has go in some were or fuse has gone

can anyone help.

Could be many things?
Sounds like your kill stops are out as you say you cant here the fuel pump. .
So key on kill stop on run (Does the fuel pump come on)?
Does it turn over?
Check the side stand switch.

few yes and no to this should get you on your way with what the problem is

I had that happen to me after going through a jet wash. Waited till it dried out and it started fine

Fuel pump connector is under infill panel / seat left hand side. Would take a look at this see if the waters got in! Believe there has been occurances of this in the past  :dontknow:.

anyone of the nurerous electrical connectors dotted around the bike

checked the igniotion switch connections as they are know to suffer too

Have had plenty of problems with my 08 running it in the wet. Had a new loom and regulator/rectifier fitted after the connector block burnt out due to water contamination. If your using yours in the wet you may want to consider using an electrical grease on all of the connectors as they are open to the elements (and easy to access). Not sure what grease to recommend, maybe someone else can help with that.

I coated all my electrics in AFC50 when I 1st got my 09 ZX10, and I will do the same again this autumn.
