Ok guys,

not sure if anyone has the answer but any advice would be great.

i have a Company wbesite and it allows me to upload PDF files to a serva for view on my web site.....

Only thing is is i have been trying to upload a couple of pdf files and i keep getting error messages, saying custom setting dont allow viewing 

I spoke to the Host and they tell me it was to do with a security issue on the file i was trying to upload, so i thought FCK to it.

then i have tried to upload a pdf what has been created local and has no security, but the damm serva is saying the same about this file. 

I have tried some different PDF and they worked ok so im stumped.

I only ask as i know some of you guys get involved with programming and IT stuff so i hoped you might be able to point me in the right direction...

Damm computors, why cant they be simple like Bikes eh... never have problems uploading on a bike...

How many times have I told you, your computer is no like a letter box! you can not keep trying to post your files in the disc tray off your tower.........................

I think this could be causing some problems.

Youve got some pdfs that upload so you have something to go on. Might you know what version of Acrobat was used to create the successful upload files ? Have you upgraded Adobe since or has it online auto upgraded (if you have an older version you could install it in a different folder any test uploads from there- newer versions may have fancy security applied default ? In the properties of the good uploads does it mention version ? Havr the good uploads actually uploaded or is the server saying they are already there ? the support staff are normally pretty good so it is more likely to be a local/client issue .

Also - cut and paste the error mesage and google it - it is often surprising what this pulls up - if it is a server issue you can garuntee there are others askinfg the same Q

how are they being uploaded ... i.e via a ftp client of via a special website admin panel..... also is this the same thing I saw before ... does this really need to be like this... wouldn't it be easier for you to have the PDF's in a location rather than viewing it in images like you have with the other ones do it show that the link opens a pdf view in the browser... if you get stuck pm me and I will try and sort you out

cheers guys, the pdf 's have been created by different year and type programmes.

Yes Glen, it is uploaded via a admin panel, things ive uploaded loads and they work fine, its just these 2 now 

They told me it might be a security thing, so i compared the bloody settings with a pdf that will upload and they look to be same.

Think i should just stick to bikes.................... ill bell them in the morning and try and sort.

I know buddy,  i think its just a glitch in the software they are using, maybe it only knows 1 type of programme or something.

might be able to find out differences in PDF's off my boss tomorrow as he is a top C programmer
