Would you
« on: July 12, 2010, 10:38:32 AM »

Whilst out in the car yesterday, a Firblade comes up close behind, looks for the gap in traffic and goes for it, as its alongside my door I notice the rider is wearing full leathers but his girlfriend/wife/ pillion is wearing micro denim shorts and a tee shirt and strappy sandles. Then proceeds to overtake all cars up front ,nailing it when he can. Now whilst I'm not denying it was rather a nice sight of this pillion  in that said outfit.  But it really made me whince at possible consiquences that could happen. And seeing some of the pics of  nasty injuries of some of the members on this site have recently had . WHY!.  I know we've had a bit of warm weather lately but... :icon_scratch:  What I'm saying is how many of you guys & girls would LET you other half or even friend ride on the back your bike dressed like that?
I'm sure none of us would . but.......

NO

infact my missus has a rather nice hein gerick jacket we picked up at the BMF which if it would fit me id "borrow" quite a lot

tbh id be more likely to put her in all the gear then myself, be far easier and less painful to loose all the skin on my legs then have it happen to her because of me

Absolutely not. Any pillion on my bike will always wear a good amount of protective kit.

Definitely not  [naughty] I never take a pillion without atleast decent bike jacket, gloves, and boots.

Reminds me of the clip where the guy pulls a wheelie & his gf drops to the floor like a sack 'o' shite. She was also wearing short skirt, & a wife-beater.

No way.....any pillions on my back must be in full kit!  Jacket, Boots, Gloves, Helmet as bare minimum...

As far as I am concerned, on a motorbike the pillion is my responsibility, and so would only be happy once they are fully kitted up!  [naughty]

As far as i am concerned, having had an off with someone on the back before, they are the ones you care most about in that scenario.

I will never let the person on the back wear less gear than i have, if i am in full they will be to. To much heart ache otherwise!

Pillions usually come off worse in an accident. They should have the same protection as the rider.  [naughty]
