Heal quick chap!
Dont know if you want to hear this but ill tell you anyway. A mate of mine had to have the lower half of his left leg amputated after a bike accident. Long story short, it wasnt long before he was playing squash, snowboarding and doing trackdays again. So if the worst comes to the worst, its not the end of the world.

Hope you are feeling better mate.  I had a very similar injury after falling off my Harley at about 20mph believe it or not.  Compound fracture to the lower tibia.  I had a fixator very similar to yours, and I got very depressed at first,  knowing how long the recovery would be.

But it does get bearable and easier to live with......believe me.  The fixators have a very high success rate for full recovery.  Just do as they tell you, and most importantly keep to the physio routine when you get it.  Its a bastard at first, but keep your chin up bud.  It gets easier day by day.

I was wearing jeans, yes. Trainers... NO. Had a pair of Sidi Vertigo Corsas on. They certainly kept my foot on the end of my leg.

Mate, I was going to start a thread about shoulder rehab after I had a head on with a car, 3 weeks ago. I walked away and am now going to count my lucky stars.
Heal fast, hope it all goes well for you.
