DVLA should be able to provide a log book - assuming it has not been identified as scrapped. Give them a call or check the website to see how you go about it.

Check on the database my dad runs a car business and we take end of life vehicles . If you give me the reg ill check whether it has ever had a C..O.D certificate of destruction. Then all you do is apply for a log book you can get the form online print it off and your good to go .. http://www.direct.gov.uk/dr_consum_dg/groups/dg_digitalassets/@dg/@en/@motor/documents/digitalasset/dg_067819.pdf
