Boring topic. But talk to me about fuel economy

I'm planning on going to the Millau Viaduct end of July / August
1500mile round trip....ish
What sort of tank range do you get from the 06 / 07 ten?
Talking steady 100mph etc
Also taking once the fuel light appears, what sort of range

I went to the Nurburgring on an R1 two years ago, I seemed to fill up all the time. Only because I'd rather stop after 70miles than run out
It was also my first European trip. And on my own - didn't fancy parking up ;)

depending on the riding style and how far you dare go you can get anything from 120-150 miles

At that speed - expect to see the light between 100 and 120 miles.
Bank on around 25/30 before you are on fumes on the light and praying for a stop.

On my 05 - which is pretty much the same tank, I am lucky to see more than 110 miles from full to warning light. Seems to make no difference how I ride either ..... :roll:

09 model with 1200 miles on it, I am seeing 110-130 before the light comes on.

Getting about 120 per tank on an 04/05 no matter how it's ridden if thats any help.

on a stock bike i got 47mpg at a steady 85-90mph on motorway journey home back when i bought it.

now its modded and downgeared get between 30 and 36mpg depending on how i ride. having a 24L tank helps too  :emb:

Stock 08, cruising at constant 90-95mph with soft panniers, kids fold up chair(not the most aerodynamic thing), son on the back and a tank bag my bike averaged 48mpg over 50miles of the A1.

when i used to have a 06 zx10 with panniers,  i would get about 170 miles with a constant speed of 90mph before the fuel indicator came on :hello2:. on my 09 zx10 i can get about 190 :tongue3:. thats also with a top box attached! :  me is a courier
it all comes down to you tyre pressure and chain condition. make sure your chain is adjusted right and lubed. also try not to gas  :pottytrain2: no open the throttle to agressively.
and remember its a holiday- spend and enjoy!!!

Since adding the Akky Link pipe to my bike I get around 140 to a tank, before with old boom box on I was only getting 120 to a tank.

I have an 06/07 and on a decent run on motorways etc, with the odd little blip...you looking at around 110-120 before light comes on.  I have done 40 miles with light on...and was shitting it....but you'll easily do 20 miles no problem!!

Personally, I think a stop every 120 miles or so is needed.  Fuel for bike, fuel for me, rest the legs/arse and bit of a chinwag.....on ya go!  Easy...

Of course I am saying that now knowing I did 683 miles in the saddle in one day last year (and will be doing the same 2 weeks today).....and those little rests are well worth it!

I must be riding my 06 10R like a BOY woop woop!! get about 110 out of mine (im sure i shoud be saying 150 cos im a girl and ride it very sensibly lol) -
very worst was light on at 85 OMFG think that must have been a bit of a mistake somehow, maybe i didnt fill it properly
