06/07 has a pants side stand
You think the bike leant over enough, you get off ..... slowly move away....and off she rolls :(
Anyone else have this??
I can't keep dropping it off the side stand!

I've bought a spare side-stand from a breakers, I thought I'd shorten it until I'm happy and then get the foot welded back on.  I don't think it's a high-demand part so they aren't too expensive.  It's cheaper than replacing panels and footrests.

Leave it in gear and turn the bars to the left and you'll get a bit more lean  :icon_thumright:

HATE my sidestand and its caused me to drop the bike, the thing is so damn long i can't always kick it out without it getting stuck on the ground, I had to lean the bike over so far to the right that oooops dropped it

I def want my sidestand chopped down a bit

Hi Guys & Girls

You just need to file/grind the angle on the pivot bracket so the stand can go about another 2 dergees further forward and it will be fine.

Did my Z1000 and both my 748 & 996 Ducatis

Im liking the idea of that method, might have to investigate and ask my mate nicely if he can have a go while Felix is with him, sounds easier than cutting and welding the thing

I had a Yamaha XT500 when they first came out, and the pressure of the bike on the stand caused it to break through the mount on the frame, so it looked like the letter C.  It's made me wary of grinding the stand down so it points further forward, I think this just increases the pressure on the mount, with the shoulder acting as a pivot.

Hi Doug

Yamaha and Suzuki still make their bikes with Cheese metal mate.
Kawasakis are made of proper strong stuff  ;-)
