Cheshire Triathlon....DONE!
« on: May 24, 2010, 12:57:53 PM »

Well, did my first Triathlon of the season in Nantwich yesterday.... :headbang:

Was a Sprint distance which consists of 500m Swim, 20km Bike and a 5km Run....

I finished in 1hr 21mins which is 4 mins quicker than my last one, but am disappointed to not break the 1hr 20 mark.  But hey ho....got some more Triathlons booked and will be starting more dedicated training perhaps.  I didn't do enough training...but certainly felt fitter than ever.  This result got me into the 287th place out of 700 competitors, but would love to get into that top 200.  And perhaps by next year, even the top 150.  :icon_puke_r:

My Swim was 10.50 mins, bike was 40.5 mins, and run was 28 mins.  Deffo can knock time off the swim and run, plus can improve my transitions from each stage.

However, I am not sure that the 25+ degree heat helped...Phew  :emb:

Thoroughly enjoyed the day, if a little sun burnt today :-(

Excuse the pic...I can confirm that I don't suit lycra and is a "little" revealing.  But hey ho...I'm not that bovvered!!

Cheers mate....to be honest....the cycle was around 38 mins...but got held up in transition so that is added to your time....but of all the events, the cycling is the one I am least worried about as I know its one of my strengths.  Realistically I think I could get down to 35-36 mins inc Transition for that....but need to do more road riding!  Is a great feeling to do, and can't wait till my next one :-)
