yeah Im in the same boat really! But check whats in the kit, as the k tec kit doesn't have the compression damping needles in you have to buy them seperately and i can't remember what i got with mine. I think i comes down to the fact that these kits are far more adjustable so the guys who know what there doing can get it set up far close to your needs!

i would get rear shock fitted and set up for your riding style and see if you think its worth doing the forks

ive got ohlins rear shock and had it serviced and set up  by 100% suspension over the winter after having it for 2 years and what a difference also put front forks back to standard settings which i change the oil in every year and its loads better even for track evenings at cadwell

just my thoughts coz i thought of getting forks done aswell but not now

well my contraversial 2p is ;

for the majority road riding undertaken does any suspension upgrade make a noticeable difference that's worth more than a check of sag etc and a regular oil refresh  ?  

we all talk of upgrade this and braided that ....... changing calipers, footrests etc but isit all 99% bling and creating a bike that's yours rather than the improvements being required

Myopinion is that it is 99% creating your own bike and unless your racing it around race circuits on a regular basis then there's simply no need to spend

Surely everyone who has spent to upgrades is going to say how much improved things are    The 'tuners' would have limited turnover if they told us that our bikes are more than fine and we the riders are the limiting factor  

yes, i have a load of extras 'bling' on mine but none make me any quicker as that's down to me and i ride as fast as my brain feels comfortable with and my skills are limited way before i get anywhere near the limitations of my old '05.

The difference over stock is massive.
Where Ohlins have gone with the new 30mm kit is to combine the best of both the 20 and the 25mm kits to come up with a non pressurised kit that can be altered in minutes.
Its basically where the new BPF forks on the latest bikes is coming from - using the actual inside as the seal rather than a cartridge - even the oe forks are cartridges that pressurise in use.
Thats why the are cheaper than the 25mm cartridges as they are a new type of piston and they only need one for each fork - rebound in one and copm in the other so no need for 2 seperate circuits in each fork which is where the cost comes in to it.

Chris, why don't you speak to Maxton about their BPF conversions... Don't forget they will sort your forks to match your weight, riding style and any other suspension mods you have 

They have done most of my bikes that have had various different setups

i don't think you can waste money on suspension/braking for any sports bike!everything else is a bit bling but not suspension and braking mods..i had a ohlins rear shock and the ohlins 20mm fork kit fitted at mh racing to my 2nd gen and it feels awsome,now i aint no racer but it does'nt now try too throw me out of the seat on most rides..its like riding a magic carpet now ..if you have the money do it .

what can i say

WOOOOOOOOOFUCKINGHOOOOOOOOOOO 

picked up my zx10r from kais today

had the 20mm kit fitted and the ohlins rear shock serviced and fitted and then set the bike up to my weight

first ride home (50 ish miles) bike feels totally different, changes in tarmac surfaces are now absorbed and the bike now likes to tip in nice and easy and stay on the line I want it to stay on even if it rides over a bump mid corner

tested it on cats eyes on the motorway, yes not a good test i know but they feel somewhat like riding over a little pebble and not the boulder it used to feel like

Kais have done a fantastic job to the bike and if you're in doubt about suspension mods then dont be
