I sold one just like that on ebay
But mine was technoflex stamped on it. couldnt get the thing to fit my bike.

The only reason why it would not fit was due to me running a MV single sided swingarm. But this might work as the res is alot higher.

Let me do some  resarch on it.

Could they not re-valve it to suit a zx10r?

Jon and Nick at Revs are my mates. They are the sole UK. importers for Wilbers so they know thier stuff..

Ive looked at stuff on ebeay, ohlins parts etc. and john has skded me for numbers and told me they are listed wrong so there must be a few people doing it ?

John did my ZX9R forks many years ago, and has some ZX10R forms I bought off Hammy on here which he is servicing for me, hence the reason I gave him the shock too.

I am very dissapointed really as the seller called me a timewaster, I'm only going on advice Jon gave me

I spend little time in the UK due to my job so when I buy stuff and try to arrange things such as this and it goes to ratsh1t is really screws my plans up that's the reason I'm asking if anyone knows anyone who wants to buy the shock as I can't get back to the UK to post it back to the seller until the 10th June, but the suspension was due to be fitted on 12th after being serviced!!!

Now I need to try to either sell it, get John to post it out (which I'm not happy to ask, think that's asking too much of them) and 'hope' he refunds me and get another shock made to measure which takes 2 weeks!! Fook

any advice welcomed

Hi r1flyguy

looking through all the data on the Ohlins site (I know it's not an Ohlins)

2007 ZX6R shock info
length between eyes 340 mm
64mm stroke
90 nm spring

2008-9 ZX10R
length between eyes 338 mm
64mm stroke
90 nm spring

as long as the shock fits in relation to the Gas cylinder orientation and you have adjustable lenth on the wilbers it will work fine.

the ZX6 is about the same weight and uses identical geomertery linkage wise.

I used a GSXR 1000 K4 Ohlins shock on my Z1000 with zero problems
MCT checked it out and it was fine internals wise just needed a 95 nm spring for the Z1000 as it's heavy.

Just my 2p worth Mate  ;-)

Rick

I agree Gaz - there should be no problems at all as its only really the shims internally plus the weight of the spring that will differ.
Unless the shims are WAYYYY different then there should be no problem at all.
FYI - K-tech fit the EXACT same 20mm kit to the R1, R6, ZX6, ZX10, GSXR 1000 k5-7 as the forks are made by Kayaba.
Same with the shock - most are Showa, loads are the same as with Ohlins - just different shims stacks internally to suit the geometry/weight/manufacturers specs, etc.

Cheers Guys  :icon_thumright:

I appreciate your advice!!! wonder why John at Rev's have not stated the above?

I will give them a call today and ask, it would save a lot of issues and in my mind it would be as good as new if they serviced it and set it up accordingly,

Failing that If i get it set up and it doesn't work right I can always sell it on as a serviced unit which may appeal to someone far better than not  :headbang:

Just spoke at Nick at Rev's, the shock does not have length adjustment so the difference on length betweenthe 6 & 10 can not be altered.

Back to square one at the mo' unless you guys have any further advice as I'm in two minds what to do!

Hammy, what would you recommend given the spec of the forks I had off you?

Cheers in anticipation  :icon_thumleft:

Hi Riflyguy

You could always fit a 2mm spacer on the top shock mount (GSXR711 makes them)

if the length is the only problem as i think that will be the same as the shock being 2mm longer.

Just an idea  ;-)

Cheers Rick +bhp for you  :icon_thumleft:

**update**

spoke to John at Revs, he contacted the factory and they have sent him specs for retro fitting the shock to make it a ZX10R shock, he will basically rebuild it with the correct internals and spring so it will be a pukka' job

sorted  :icon_thumleft:

I'll update you all when it's done and fitted, looking at 2 weeks and fitting at it's service in June

thanks everyone, you have been a great source of info and advice, :headbang: yet again

Result Gaz - a 2mm spacer would make it 4mm LONGER though than it needs to be. Needs to be 2 mm shorter.
Wouldn't worry about 2mm though as that'll make it turn in nicely  [whistle]
