« on: May 01, 2010, 03:25:54 PM »

My seat lock has become seized on  ...i have tried spraying it with heaps of WD40 but it doesnt want to free up.

Are there any other techniques for freeing it up?

You'll probable find its not the lock but the cable - especially if  you've had the tail apart at any point.
You'll need to take the main seat off and feel up under the plastic past the back of the alloy guard to the cable and disconnect it and then pull the cable manually.
They have a habit of fraying and jamming - mine happened on my 06 at 8pm the night before we all went on the Germany run last year

glad you got it sorted but might be worth checking your cable below is what happened to mine...

The cable came out of the holder because it came out of it's bracket and the guard was bent, I've added a cable tie now to hold it down a bit and bent the guard back to stop it happening again. I never noticed the guard was bent may be worth checking yours out..!

I had to cut the hole under the rubber end bit but at least I still had not painted the seat hump yet. Now just a bit of plastic welding and at least no one will see the repair of the hole under the rubber...
