Bike rucksacks......
« on: April 27, 2010, 03:40:16 PM »

Hi guys, was looking out my kawasaki rucksack in prep for the NW200 to find its f***ed, the lining has come away from the inside over the winter. Have been looking on the net for a replacement but my heads bursting looking.  Any info and recommendations would be great   :icon_thumleft: thanks for your help.... scotty.

Depends on how tall you are - up to 5'9 ish R25 as the R35 is very long and will sit on the seat and hit you in the back of the head but is awesome.
Just wish Kriega would put the front pocket bit from the R25 on the R25.

Put it on in the shop then go si ton something - bike/chair etc and see where it sits - I'd probably go for the R25 - I went to Germany last year with just that.

Personally....I am 5ft 9ins and have the R35.  So I'm not a giant...but have used this for the last two years and its flippin ace.  Can take laptop, shoes, shirt, trousers, and folder of work with no dramas when I go to work.

If you ring Kriega, they will sell you a R35 and if you don't like the size/fit they will probably say, just sent it back and they'll send you a R25 (as long as its not used).

While they look good for being waterproof, the beauty of the kriega is you can put really heavy items in it, and it takes the load off the shoulders unlike a normal ruck sack.

It has a round the waist support which ties into the over shoulders support, and clips together on your chest. Mine has been used daily for the last 6-7 years in Scotland, for carrying my work stuff and it hasnt been penetrated  [rofl] by water yet, the same rucksack brilliant piece of kit cant recommend kriega enough.

Yeah the Overboard has all that stuff. Waist strap to distribute the load and the shoulder straps clip together across the chest, it even has a padded mesh back and straps for comfort . I've worn this for a while now and done some long trips with it and I can't fault it.

It's obviously all down to personal choice and if the Kreiga does all you want and you like the way it looks then get it, pack and hit the road...... Ah yeah!
