Hmmmmmm speedo readings
« on: May 03, 2010, 09:29:31 PM »

well  [rofl]

fitted a 16t front sprocket and wanted it to read right so got myself a new V4 speedo healer

fitted it and hadnt yet set it up and was out lastnight with whiterabbit, to say it was under reading is an understatment lol, but found that was because it was set to kmph with no correction figure in

anyways i went out today reset it and measured gps reading to speedo reading

the estimate figure for gearing change from 17t to 16t was -10.8%

the precise figure for display over gps reading is -13.3%

so i've set it to the precise settings and its bang on the same now, speedo and gps read exactly the same

my question is tho

would you guys prefer it this way or prefer it to slightly over read, that way i have some room for error with speed traps and cameras etc?

what are peeps thoughts on this  :icon_thumright:

I'd rather have it slightly over reading... :icon_thumright:

The speedohealer figure also includes the factory set over-read. So the 10% you were told obviously as you found will over read slightly as Speedohealer factored in the Factory Over-Read, purely for the scamera safety!

You could set it to REALLY under read so 100 reads as 10, 120 as 12 etc. 1000 miles clocks up as 100! Thereby preserving the resale value of your motorcycle! [whistle]

Couldnt possibly condone such a dastardly thing tho'!
