Yep, thats the feeling! Every trackday kills the fun of road riding for at least a fortnight afterwards.

Do you earn/have access to loads of cash? 'cause you're gonna need it  [rofl] Trackdays are more addictive than fags.  And as for feeling safer on the track it's a no brainer IMHO , so much less than to think about, just concentrate on your riding  :icon_thumright: Although if you do venture out on the road, if like me and others you'll find yourself taking it more steady.

finally im at at stage with work where i can relax off a bit and spend some of me dough (as long she dont spend it first!!) but the track thing really got into me head and i could put all my silly riding skills onto the track and loved it no old bill no speed limits. what more can a man want!!!! the only thing i thought is that i might trade my 10 in for a 600 cos i think its good enough for what i need but the track scene is the dogs  :headbang:

M8,I was there too,06 in green inters.
Top track, but after long lay off after low side last year I was very cautious
The new surface seemed a bit slippy early on but It may be in my mind as I had no confidence in me tyres(qualifier II's)
but as the day/sun wore on so did my speed.
Took all day to learn it tho' :tongue3:

In all a gr8 day, cracking track & facilities & a good bunch of new track buddies were made

p.s. I seemed to be one of the slowest in the inters, left for dead(till i got my mojo) by all sorts of wellridden toot,& am thinking I may chop the old girl in for something sweeter in the bends as this is where all the pace is made up..
Duc 848 maybe?? :icon_scratch:

I have always fancied having a go , but i have always been a bit nervous about dropping my bike. How many riders are out on track at once either in a slow or a fast group i wouldn't want to get in anyones way.

There are countless numbers of people asking the same question mate, I was one of them many years ago, and now after tons of trackdays under my belt I'm happy enough to be at the top quarter of the fast group . There are roughly between 25-40 riders in any one session although bigger tracks and high season those numbers might increase, although I may stand corrected. You won't drop your bike unless you think about dropping it, just concentrate on working out the layout of the track and where the braking markers are. Find an instructor and ask to be shown the lines etc, and be careful if you take the plunge to do it...........as it may end up in you having one of the best days on a bike yet!

If ur worried about ur bike pick up a cheapy zx6r/cbr 6oo (or sumfink) to test the water with.
Theres stacks of track bikes about and you would only need to spend about 1800 quid for something that is well kitted out and wont make you cry when it goes down.
This way you get to keep your road bike which you could always sell at a later date if the track bug really bites.
Even one of the race spec MZ two strokes can deliver a huge amount of fun for your bucks. Just dont make the mistake of thinking its all about securing yourself the max amount of horse power. If you ever seen an R1 trying to catch an RS125 Honda on a trackday you'll know what I mean.

and thats what i done recently,

have done about 10 track days so far, firstly on my beloved 10 (dropped at snetty btw) but recently bought zx6r (j1-2000 reg) for a grand and i dont care if i drop it. Fun is unbelievable!!!
and now im properly hocked!!
u will love it more and more

but IMO silverstone might not be the best first track. will be difficult to find another one so wide.

see u on the track mate!!  :icon_thumright:

I don't think is it a good idea sometimes road could be same enjoyable as a track.

you can have great days out on the road but they dont come anywhere close to great days on the track, its night and day

well I wouldn't never sell or swap my bike just for riding on track.
