I've managed to blag loads of pairs of the cheap foam type things and wouldn't go anywhere without them now, just doesn't feel right, and as has been mentioned I wanna keep my hearing for a as long as poss.

I've had a couple of pairs made by having moulds taken of my ears.  They are crap and don't fit.  Work that out! Christ knows how that happened!  :dontknow:

Always wear plugs, If I don't it feels as bad as not putting my helmet on. Can feel any changes to the bikes ,vibes,feel,un-natural talent [rofl] [rofl] or luck. I know people with tinitus and it makes their life a complete misery far more than a busted engine.

i never leave home without ear plugs coz i don't want to be almost deaf in 20 years. i've tried all sorts of the foam type and found the max lite are the best -

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/20-FOAM-EAR-PLUGS-10-PAIRS-OF-MAX-LITE-EARPLUGS-A65_W0QQitemZ280466262870QQcmdZViewItemQQptZUK_Motorcycle_Parts?hash=item414d178b56

the same pair can be used several times as long as their kept clean so they work out well cheap

Thanks for all the replies guys, deffo given me something to think about.
I did try wearing some today and as others have stated it did feel as though my senses were dulled but by the time i got home i was quite used to them.
Gonna try n wear them over the next few days and see how things go.
I feel I should also mention that i work in the power industry and have to wear ear plugs or muff most of the day so its not like i am not used to wearing them.

Hi I also work in the power industry so I've seen the noise damage vids many times!, plus sourcing the E.A.R plugs is easy :-) .  I never ride without them even green-laning with them in.
Apart from the obvious saving yer hearing, I've found I ride quicker with them in, I can feel and hear the engine/exhaust and the wind noise isn't distracting. I also think that any mechanical sympathy I have is reduced when I can't hear the engine screaming!  I also realised that if I can I put them in as early as poss before I still my lid on this seems to give them chance to expand better.  DO try them out on yer next long run and if it dosen't feel right 1st time, stop pull em out and reinsert. Oh and one other thing - its stops the midges with the Doc Martins stomping round yer lug hole within 200yds of setting off.......

I like em. They blank out the harsher mechanical noises making the bike sound sweeter. Then you dont feel so bad about ragging the shit out of it everywhere!
