Ear plugs
« on: April 14, 2010, 08:57:01 PM »

My mate rides a blade with standard pipes on it and always wears ear plugs when riding.
I never wear ear plugs as I wanna hear whats going on around and under me.
I was just wondering how many of you guys n gals do or dont wear them.  ;-)

not using ear plugs for longer than 10 ish minutes at 70 mph upwards can and will cause permanet ear damage

as you only get issued one set of ears upon being made am sure you'd like to keep good care of them  :dontknow:

I use EarTech moulded ones. You can get these from any hearing place - they take a mould and a couple of weeks later your plugs arrive..

i always keep a pair of those standard ones you get for a couple of quid with me on the bike, but i have to admit i only wear them when i remember, which isnt very often.
i kinda feel wearing them dulls my senses a bit so im less aware of whats going on with the bike and around me.
i use the excuse that i only ride at weekends and proberbly on average about 3 hrs a week for 7 months of the year

As far as I can see on the telly all the racers wear em. A lesson for all of us there.
Unfortunately I never seem to remember to put em in till Im already underway  :emb:
Keep telling myself I should have em in so I guess its just a case of getting in the habit.
I agree that they do seem to dull the senses tho. What you get used to I spose  :dontknow:

I like em. They blank out the harsher mechanical noises making the bike sound sweeter. Then you dont feel so bad about ragging the shit out of it everywhere!
