Sticky backed plastic !
« on: April 14, 2010, 12:39:19 PM »

So I finally got round to covering tail with 3M Di-noc, its lucky I  watched blue peter as a kid  !  ~It was difficult getting it on in one piece but swearing and hair dryer helped. Next week I'm making a turbo and intercooler using a washing up liquid bottle, cornflake box and pva glue . . . . .

Goes on dry, it has special channels in the adhesive to help prevent trapped air, it also goes very stretchy with enough heat. Thanks to all for + comments , want to paint the rest matt orange now . . . .  roll on summer . :icon_thumright:

Was thinking of doing bellypan once funds allow, see someone on e bay doing silver di-noc carbon now too, so many ideas , so little time and even less money !!  ;-)

Hi Andy

I just ordered a couple of small 100mm x 100mm bits to make a swinging arm guard for my left heel area and a spare bit to play with.

Interesting stuff for sure, shame it can't be laquered though as i like shiney trinkets  :icon_thumright:

I'm not sure about clear coat, it may well stick, either by using a clear adhesion promoting primer first or acrylic clear may stick too, If I get time I'll clear coat a small off cut and see how it lasts  :icon_thumright:
