i for one would never run a rear tyre compound softer than the front........... AGAIN. i did it a few years ago in the wet and lost out on a top 3 result . for the track k1/sc1 front k2/sc2 rear or on the road keep them the same compound, hope this helps

How many of us would be able to tell the difference if we didnt know what was fitted to our bikes? Im no racer but i can more than hold my own in the fast group and Im pretty damn sure i wouldnt feel any differences between k1s and k2s whether they were matching or not and which was fitted front and rear. I might feel the difference between a set of 2CTs and a set of slicks but even then im not sure. I reckon its all in our heads for most of us and only the EXTREMELY talented would feel the difference.

I can tell the difference in tyres but not neccessarily in compounds.

When I had my R6 I came off it running pilot 2ct's and lost all confidence In them, then I bought a set of diablo supercorsa racescrubs and noticed the difference Instantly I could really throw the bike into the corner and had confidence In their abilities!

Hi Guys

I would never run a softer rear compound on a trackday than the front

I can save most rear slides i get into
But never managed to save a front slide so far

if your good you might be able to save a front slide but i am not that good a rider

Good plan mate. Hope you dont fall on your arse mate but if you do, its unlikely to be the fault of the tyres. That said, a lot of folks do tend to blame their tyres for their own fuck ups. They're an easy scapegoat. 2CTs in the right hands are capable of lapping faster than ANYONE on this forum on racetec slicks so its not worth worrying to much about them.
