Racefit Exhaust hanger
« on: March 10, 2010, 05:40:28 PM »

Well today is a great day, I got my hands on a Racefit exhaust hanger Courtesy of Horse, (Thanks Again bud). fits a treat, made one small mod to it which was to drill all the holes out to 10mm instead of the standard 8mm holes, this enabled me to fit the standard foot peg bolts back in as the colors now fit in the holes. I used one of the original bolts from the LHD side foot pegs to put in the hole that you attach the exhaust to so they all match. just got to get my hands on some black 8mm button head bolts for the LHD side of the bike to blank the foo tpeg holes off. heres a few pics for you all to take a peek at.  :blob8:

Looks good how much are they or is that a PM to Horse  :icon_thumright:

I have removed the LH side footpeg too and have thought about how to deal with the look of the two holes as I feel it looks odd... Was thinking a metal plate screwed back on to tidy the look, powder coated black of course to match... Any one done this or summat similar?

I'm very confused, Racefit lads are good friends off mine. What year bike is yours? have been there at the first development off 04/06 and 08 bike and all hangers have been a direct replacent for rear pegs. So unless you have some fault in your subframe or a totally one off set up your hanger should fit properly. If you are having problems you can either contact direct, Jon at Racefit, say you know me. Tell him you problem and he will endevour to rectify it or if near Matlock go see then direct on a Sat morn. Let me know and I'll meet you there and we'll sort it out there and then.

Cheers Horse

cant remember unless i remove the bolts

but dont the standard foot peg bolts have a shoulder on them? to centre the footrest to the subframe? think the thread is 8mm but the shoulder on the bolt is 10mm, might be mistaken tho, just trying to remember lol

cheers horse im going to sort this myself like wazhalo has done but basically the holes for the racefit hangers for the 08 onward bikes are to small for the standard bolts as they have a shoulder to them (they fit but the shoulder doesnt go all the way through leaving the bolt sitting proud) the hangers need a 10 mm hole not an 8 mm hole or bolts without a shoulder. im going to drill mine now i know it can be done ok. :icon_thumright:can i just say im dead chuffed with my exhaust i was just being a picky twat maybe :dontknow: oh by the way jon did me a great deal on my exhaust basically threw in the baffle and the hanger for free instead of me picking up exhaust from nec great guys said it worked out better for us that way. how many businesses do that nowadays
