cheap on board camera
« on: March 09, 2010, 07:42:56 PM »

found on another forum a really cheap camera for on board footage

apparantly this is a quick vid from the said cameras

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cMyy6nApM7Y&feature=player_embedded

quote by the guy who made the above vid,

"You will need a MicroSD card, atleast a 4GB. Battery only lasts about 50mins max, even less if its cold but luckily doesnt take much longer than 20mins to charge.

If you plan on using it for trackdays, I would suggest either buying 3-4 and using them for a few sessions max, or charging between sessions but either way you will need a laptop to grab the files off the SD card unless you have a few cards. A 20min session will be between 1-1.5GB in size.

As for mounting, 3M Dual Lock is the stuff you need. I used it for my clip, just a small but underneath my nosecone and it was extremely sturdy."

im sceptical as to how such a cheap camera gets such amazing footage but nonetheless im gonna buy one just to try it out! could be a massive bargain

I bought one! It went kaput after one short blast on the bike. Tried it in the car and the quality was amazing for the price. Dont think it liked being taped to the crash bung at ahem mph with a few wheelies thrown in. Think the vibes killed it. Might just buy a couple more and mount them more sympathetically.

I'm sure if you don't mount it so it's staring at your speedo or clearly doing wheelies the. They can't prove what speed you're doing!
Or just try and yank the sd card out on the sly
