Anybody do their own tyre fitting?

Im considering buying a compressor (for spraying as well as tyre changes) and Im wondering if anyone can give me some tips re other equipment I may need.
Itll be on a budget (of course) so what do you use?
How difficult is it?
What about balancing?
Why do Yanks call em "Tires"?

been doing my own for a while now,basics are.

bead breaker
tyre soap
3 levers
3 rim protectors
valve removal tool
new valves
weights
balancer

all in approx 200 quid,then you can get 25l compressor for about 50-100 with tools.

deffo worht it in the long run,i have 4 bikes in the house and made all the money back in 12 months,plus savers having to drive tot he tyre shop.

as ease of use,like anything,once you learn the knack it's easy

Dunno much about compressors mate, but you'll need one with a decent sized air tank

Been hunting down some specifics of the one on the ebay link above.
Just lifted the spec from the manufacturers web site:

Ive ordered a compressor (similar spec to above but with 1,5kw)
and Ive ordered a pair of spangly Michelin 2CT's  (241,90 Euros/218 Quid delivered)

All I need now is a tyre valve tool, some valves (rubber or metal type?) and some weights.
Did you manage to price some stuff up Liam?
