Fresh air system blanking plates
« on: February 24, 2010, 05:35:53 PM »

Does anyone know where I can get blanking plates for the fresh air system, for an 08/09 model 10R?

Makes it easier to setup the bike on a dyno as you aren't feeding crankcase breather fumes back into the airbox

almost... gives better a/f readings as exhaust gases not diluted with fresh air so easier to tune (and service with  less clutter) most dyno operators just pinch rubber tube whilst on dyno when probe in exhaust so readings not affected.

crankcase breather is whole other story, needs oil catch tank and breather filter to route/vent crankcase pressure (dirty/oily air) to atmosphere rather than back into engine, thereby helping high end rpm bhp.

bikes route these fumes back into airbox for emissions reasons...

Yup that's about the size of it :-P Crescent do a really nice catch tank for the GSXR1000, not sure if I'm gonna go that far (but then again)

fi fix will be a resistor for the connector that plugs into the solenoid/valve assy so ecu thinks its still there...

Thanks for that, do you know what resistance the resistor should be?

Cheers
