I have an '04 bike in blue, bought from new the day it was launched. I have done only 11k miles including a trip round the Nurburgring and several tours to France and Scotland.
I have added an Ohlins steering damper and Ohlins rear shock, plus Goodridge front brake lines and a double bubble screen. I also fitted a Scorpion end can. The bike is awesome and the suspension additions have made the bike almost 'easy' to ride - note 'almost' !!
I have Michelin Pilot 2CT tyres which make a huge difference as well. The adds on and changes have definitely made big improvements to the bike.
I rode an '09 loan bike last year and it wasn't worth me changing it in - there was very little difference and mine is in a better colour!!
