Well my day went like this. Got up to see some drizzle falling. Rode to curcuit swearing to myself about it, but dry when I got there. Signed on 8am, then listened to the briefing at 8.30. People still signing on at 8.30 Went out on track for 3 laps at a slowish pace behind an instructor about 9am. This is when I knew I didnt know Oulton even though I'd seen numerous races etc on TV. After the sighting laps we came back in for the other groups to do theirs. Had to do a noise test before being allowed out then for our sessions. Though this did seem a bit haphazard as to how it was done. (I'm running stand can on my GSXR so no issues). Over the tannoy comes the call for our group. Lined up in pairs and slowly released onto the track. My oh my this is fun I thought. Never realised how much elevation change there is. My aim to to have a safe day which I did. Managed to pass people but got overtaken myself. There were quite a few offs, though noone seemed to hurt. From what I saw people just a bit too keen on cold tyres. We had six session on total, each one supposed to be 20 minutes. No idea how many laps I did. Though I did do about 100 miles. Learnt a valuable lesson as well. When you go out on track, make sure your seat cowl is firmly in place. Mine is now part of the Oulton grass, in a lrage number of pieces. I'd stored wallet etc under there so nothing in my pockets and I'n not closed it before going out. Could have been worse. After my little mishap with the seat cowl decided to come home. This happened on last session so missed a few laps. Felt that it safer to do this than carry on while annoyed at what had happened. Overally though a very good day and cant wait until I'm out on track again.
