Its a good idea bud - not knocking it per se BUT the problem is most guys will just want their own kit - nothing more.
The business is in supply - race teams, etc and MacMoto, OPP are out there with the best readily available. Very little is made in the UK as the costs are too high and people won't pay. Look at the price of a glass kit here - its daft for what they are really ESPECIALLY when you know what it takes to make them.
Carbon is a different matter - I know what it takes to work with pre-preg, autoclave, etc BUT cost still comes into it. Have looked into getting the quals myself as one of our contracts involves the stuff and its daft money for a 3 day course that covers jack.
If you can get into the race teams and there are ways - then the money will be there if the price is right and that will bring down the costs for the rest of it.
That would be my suggestion.
Other idea might be a "group buy" on here and other forums to cover the cost of the moulds and then you're in business - I know for a fact the over on Junkies they are carbon addicts and the like of Tyga are courting them on a regular basis.

A group method might work out well. I'm sure there'd be a good few people (I for one) who would consider going in for a group buy to cover it all, but so long as numbers are right to make it worth while.

Perhaps if the groupd people wish, they could possibly buy at trade (so a little above material cost) to make you some money and make them some money if they wish to do so.

As said, most will just want a set for their own and not really want to get into selling kits, but some people might be interested in the potential.

Hi there,

Yeah group buys would also work. It means everyone can benefit from the idea! what we could do is split it amongst everyone and same with profits etc. it would cost pennies split amongst a group of people.

As for prepreg, it is pricey but it is also a different league from wetlay methods! I personally have worked on 80% of all the British superbike teams and many Isle of man TT bikes like GSE(Airwaves) Factory Yamaha,Relentless suzuki,Hydrex honda, padgetts Honda etc just to name a few and they all run prepreg as it has many more advantages. its lighter, stronger, and last longer but its more costly.

let me know your thoughts folks and keep me posted!
