C2 wing mirror modification
« on: February 01, 2010, 03:49:31 PM »

Hi guys did a search and couldnt find anything on wing mirror mods  So I  thourgth I'd post my  little mod thats really made a difference for me...............an you know the standard fittings on a C1/2 are fecking useless.................. and having come from a ZX9R which are good I really wanted to do something with out loosing to much in the cosmetic dept.............. so  Ive cut half of the original bracket so you just have one lug left on one side............. file  smooth the now blanked area, use the thread in the lug for securing  the  mirrors/stalk from the out side of the bracket making the mirror  vision  now picks up a wider area with a small piece of alloy tubing as a large' washer ' and some longer bolts secured with thread lock .........quick coat of satin black........... and I can honestly say i can see behind me now and also know that these wont let go at speed.............. tested to 150 so far so good........... and to be honest  they dont look that 'grim.. you can also bring them forward or backwards now  for better results ................ hope Ive explained  stuff ok....the big bonus is its costs feck all...............always nice       :headbang:

It's a lot less work (and a lot prettier) to use either GSXR mirrors or faired Bandit mirrors straight onto the OE mounts.

I had an article on here somewhere about doing that. They still look pretty stock, but do increase rear vision, particularly if you go with the GSF650 Bandit mirrors.

EDIT: HERE it is  :icon_thumleft:

I must say the GSXR mirrors look the way forward (or should that be backward  :tongue3:)

But it's always good to see inventive mods  :icon_thumleft:
