well Lisa, he is your old man so I suppose you did the decent thing. I reckon you will end up spending most of the summer on the back of your beloved 10!!  One thing I've never done, and don't intend to.  Hats off to ya!

I'm currently looking to get 848, but not sure whether to change my 10r for it or keep the both....best of both worlds perhaps  :icon_scratch:.

Would be interested to hear you Dad's opinions of the 848?  Have you ridden it?  What do you think?  (Is it white....Mmmmmmmmmm  :icon_thumright:)

I used to have a 748 which I loved, and it really broke my heart to sell it, so can't wait to get back on a twin  :crybaby2:.

Personally, I understand your Dad's view of wanted to be able to wring a bikes necks, and the 10 or other thou's are not the bikes to do that....unless your an exceptional rider of  course.  YOu could ride the ten in 2/3rd all day and still be faster than most bikes!  Its the old arguement of what rewards you want from biking.  We are all different!  :boxing:

Hello mate

firstly its the other half that's got an 848 (known as daddy2coull cos his surname is coull) - he AINT my dad lol

secondly - he loves it!! despite a few teething troubles, its the bike he always dreamed of. He mostly rides it in the first three gears, says my 10 is boring in comparison. He got all slow on his zx6r, but since having the 848 has changed loads, he says the bike does everything he asks it to. I think he rides it like a bloody loon LOL
and its red lol

Thanks for that.....shame its Red.  I'm going for White, with Carbon Termi's and single seat.  Plus a few other OEM Add-ons...saw one at the NEC which was the fecking cannines cahoooners   (I know I know...haven't even bought it yet and planned the mods)

L:ooking forward to the weather getting better around March time so I can go shopping!

You will love it!!!

Its all Gibi's fault on here, he got an 848 and blinged the arse off it, to the tune of several thousand pounds worth i think lol

So when Adam (my other half) went and got an 848 too, he needed a bit of bling, he has the titanium termis
gibi then went and traded up to a 1098s, he sold and donated a few bits to Adam, more bloody bling LMAO

[rofl] [rofl] [rofl] I didnt know Adam was actualy your dad Lisa

you'll love the 848. its probably the best bike I've ever owned. I'm not a quick rider but the Duke allows you to be slow into the corner and just fire out of them. And for some reason it loves having its neck rung all the way to the rev limiter. I may even regret trading up to the 1098 but I always wannted an 848s but it wasnt an option. I would recommend getting the suspension set up though, they are very stiff at the rear
