Question !! Buying a Bike thats been use on track
« on: January 29, 2010, 07:45:39 PM »

Right

My mates brought a Honda CBR 600 RR  58 plate from a dealer in leeds it has 1600 miles on the clock.  BUT its all track mileage,     Is this a BIG problem or will it be fine ??

For example do you think the bike will have been ran in ??

I think it a little far fetched to believe the bikes been run in following manufacturers recommendations, especially as you say it,s all track mileage :icon_scratch: I would love to see that one tough! Imagine this fella pootling around on a trackday, acting like a mobile chicane whilst keeping it under 6k for the first 600 miles.  [rofl] [rofl]

It'll be fine, bikes on track usually get way more maintenance than road bikes,

Also there's an agrument that a bike thrashed from the outset actually makes more power in the early stages of it's life, but the overall life may be shortened (25,000 plus before it shows)

if it was purely track then i suspect it was run in on the dyno.

as long the oil/filters where changed regular then wouldn't see an issue.\\for all you know it might have been someone that just ran in the novice for a bit of fun
