Help Needed
« on: January 01, 2010, 12:38:28 PM »

Hi Guys, as you may or may not be aware I am probably going to have to chop the 10R in for a more practical bike. I need something that has a reasonably large full tank 22ltrs ish, Doesn't go through tyres quickly and is capable of commuting 400+ miles per week in comfort. I am thinking of a Suzuki DL650 GT V strom. I know its a major come down after the 10 but i just could not afford to run the 10 as a commuting tool especially as the price of fuel is going be shooting up soon. and know doubt the 10R it will eat tyres as it is going to be mainly motorway miles I will be covering. Any recomendations gratefully recieved. :icon_scratch:

personally i`d stay away from the suzuki for that kinda millage , depending on your budget i` d be looking at maybe a verseys 650, er6-f, zzr600 or if you can afford it a GTR1400
i`v ridden all these bikes and even used a verseys and a er6f on the track and there excellent bikes, there fairling nippy and the most economical bikes in there class.

p.s i will do a deal on a new er6f

Hi

Suggestions as follows Blackbird, Bandit, FJR, VFR, CB1000, any of the BMW range, You need to bear in mind that you will miss the speed of the ZX10r and speaking from experience (used to own a Hayabusa) nothing will match the zx10 if you love it enough.  True tyres dont last long but I found Michellin 2CT very good and lasted a long time.
